The tall checking center is the kind of player who does the dirty work so others can shine. He uses his size well in a shutdown role, is an effective penalty killer and wins more than his share of face-offs, something that is vital for his role. He is not a prolific scorer but has enough offensive skills that opponents cannot take him (or his linemates) for granted.
